A Final Bow for the Purple Bird: Saying Goodbye to Vistara

There’s always a brand that makes you feel special, right? One that you want to visit again and again because it just makes you happy. For many of us, that brand was Vistara Airlines. It wasn’t just about flying from one place to another. It was about feeling good while doing it. And now, on 11th November 2024, Vistara will take its last flight. Saying goodbye is going to be hard for many of us.

Vistara was different. It made flying feel like a treat. Remember those hot meals? They weren’t just cold sandwiches you’d expect on other flights. No, Vistara made sure you got real food. And the seats? They weren’t like those stiff seats you might find on a bus. Even in economy, you felt comfortable, like you were flying in premium. And if you were in premium, it felt like business class. Vistara just knew how to make us feel a little special.

Vistara was created by Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, two companies that really know how to take care of people. Tata had a long history in aviation, and Singapore Airlines brought their touch of luxury. Together, they gave us Vistara—a full-service airline that made flying feel fun again. You didn’t just fly Vistara to get somewhere. You flew because you enjoyed it.

Then came the news in November 2022 that Vistara would merge with Air India. It was sad news. The beautiful purple and gold planes that had become a familiar sight would soon be part of Air India. And just like that, we knew Vistara’s journey was coming to an end.

On 11th November, Vistara will fly for the last time. That’s it—the final trip for the airline that made us feel good every time we took to the skies. No more hot meals, no more comfy seats. For many of us, it feels like saying goodbye to a good friend.

At Mostly Business, we’ll miss Vistara a lot. It wasn’t just an airline. It made us feel like we mattered. Vistara was all about giving us a smooth and special experience. Now, with the merger, Air India will be bigger and better, but the Purple Bird will always have a place in our hearts

So, here’s to Vistara. You may no longer be in the skies, but you’ll forever soar in our hearts.

And to the team behind the Purple Bird, you did it. You gave India an airline to be proud of, and for that, we’ll never forget you.

Fly high, Vistara. Forever.
